What are Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC)? What are the pros and cons of CCRCs, and how much do they cost? This webinar will discuss “aging in place” and retirement communities, exploring the challenges and opportunities that come with aging and the options available for extending independence and promoting quality of life. Join Aline Dawson, volunteer instructor at Duke’s lifelong learning institute, to learn more.
Aline Dawson relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Triangle in 2005. During her career she held a variety of IT Management positions for several Fortune 50 companies including IBM, Apple, Xerox and Cisco Systems, Inc. She holds a BA in Business Administration from The University of North Texas. She retired from Cisco Systems, Inc in 2017. Upon retirement Aline became involved in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Duke program. Since Fall 2018 she has taught an OLLI course exploring housing options as we age. The course provides an overview of Aging in Place and Aging in Community and includes a deep dive of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) in the Triangle area.
